CapeHorn Integrated Self-SteeringThe CapeHorn Integrated Self-Steering system was developed by Yves Gélinas, a solo circumnavigator.

At the 2005 United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD, TheSailingChannel  interviewed Yves Gélinas' nephew, Eric about his uncle's famous self-steering system.  Yves designed the CapeHorn for his 1983 28,000 mile circumnavigation aboard his Alberg 30, Jean-du-Sud. Yves engineered a self-steering system that is an integral part of the vessel.  His design places the self-steering quadrant inboard and enables its servo-pendulum to be controlled by a small autopilot if the wind completely dies. You can purchase a film of Yves' solo voyage and read numerous articles on the CapeHorn website.
