A
classic sailboat, a fresh breeze, a willing
crew and the sun sparkling off the water. Add an original
musical score and an inspirational narrative that echoes the
spirit and sounds of sailing
and you have Dancing With The Wind.
This
unique 28-minute video tells the story of a 2-day
cruise along Florida’s central Gulf coast that captures the
romance and pure joy of sailing.
The boat is Wind Ketcher, a classic, Tom Gilmer-designed,
1976 Allied Seawind ketch with an Atlantic crossing under
her keel.
A
blue water beauty, Wind Ketcher glistens and gleams across the waves,
dancing with the wind to the melodies composed and performed by her skipper,
professional musician, Ed Verner. Award-winning cinematographer, Steve Seckar captures
the sailing from on board, the sky above. the sea and just about every angle
in-between.
Over the course of the voyage, we sail through fair weather and squalls, the
music matching the moods of the sea on each tack. Returning to port in the
golden glow of a Florida sunset, our dance with the wind ends but the video
leaves us yearning for more.
